Product Release Notes
ExpressPCI Ultra320 Release v4.31 – Mac® OS X
1. General Release Information
These product release notes define the new features, changes, known issues and release details that apply
to ExpressPCI Ultra320 SCSI adapter driver, version 4.31, released on 09/26/2008. This information
pertains to the Mac OS X driver associated with the ExpressPCI Ultra320 SCSI products.
2. Changes
Version 4.31 (Released 09/26/2008)
o The following apply to changes made from v4.30 to v4.31
o It is recommended that firmware version 2008_02_18 and BIOS version 2.25 be utilized
with this driver release.
o New Features
None
o Incident Resolutions/Bug Fixes/Changes
Addressed an issue where an external bus reset during negotiation could cause a
kernel panic
Changed the auto request sense length to be only what the application asked for
instead of the maximum amount
Created a fix for a firmware issue where a READ ATTRIBUTE command with an odd
transfer length would hang the SCSI bus by temporarily negotiating to U160
Version 4.30 (Released 02/29/2008)
o The following apply to changes made from v4.20 to v4.30
o It is recommended that firmware version 2008_02_18 and BIOS version 2.25 be utilized
with this driver release.
o New Features
None
o Incident Resolutions/Bug Fixes/Changes
Addressed an issue with a bus hang during data transfer when a write command is
issued with a length that is not a multiple of four.
Improved power management functionality when multiple host adapters are installed in
the same computer.
Revert to converting all untagged commands to ordered queue.
Modified diagnostic test for an interrupt pending to ensure that interrupts are processed
correctly when shared with other PCI devices.
All event sources are disabled prior to the driver unloading to prevent a kernel panic
when other devices share the same interrupt.
Improved out-of-resource processing code
Performance improvements for applications that request more than 24 bytes.
Improved uninstaller script to function better for non-root users.
